In an effort to further educate our customers on routine maintenance and care of their Pro Gear Football Shoulder Pads we have established the following guidelines. After Each Game or Practice
Remember to check your Pro Gear shoulder pad for any tears or cracks after each practice or game. If you spot any damage, promptly send it to Pro Gear for repair or replacement.
Monthly
We suggest a regular cleaning schedule for your Pro Gear Air Management cushions. Use a soft detergent and disinfectant, wipe it off, and then let air dry. Do not immerse in water or use a washing machine or dryer.
Yearly
At the end of each season, your Pro Gear shoulder pad should be sent back to Pro Gear for reconditioning. During the reconditioning process, we inspect the plastic for cracks or weak points, we inspect the cushions for tears as well as clean and sanitize each cushion, and all other parts and hardware are inspected. After inspection, your Pro Gear representative will reach out if any replacement parts or pads are needed.
End of Product Life
As with any high impact product, regular maintenance and reconditioning of Pro Gear shoulder pads are key to their durability. With proper maintenance and yearly reconditioning a Pro Gear shoulder pad should maintain its protection rating for a period of 10 years. Pro Sports will not recondition a pad older than 10 years and it is recommended they be discarded and replaced. In the event that we determine a shoulder pad is unable to be reconditioned, a Pro Gear representative will reach out to you quickly to determine next steps.
